The Archie Equation is a mainstay of conventional petrophysical analysis, but what exactly is it? How was it created and what the various factors and exponents actually mean? It is important to understand these things, since the saturation estimates from the Archie Equation may be critical in our STOIIP estimations, upon which the success of our prospect evaluation and development planning rely.
