The village of Rocamadour

Rocamadour is a spectacular village built in to a Lower Jurassic cliff face overlooking the Dordogne River.  It is famous for its historical monuments and the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which has been a focus for pilgrims since medieval times.  As well as the monastic buildings, the village has some great restaurants and is famous for the local “Rocamadour” cheese, made from goat’s milk.  Read more on Wikipedia.
