A delightful “Beau Village” on the northern boundary of the Aquitaine Basin. The lower Jurassic sandstones are lying directly on highly deformed basement, including serpentinites. The village itself features a lovely church and chateau, with a wide cobbled main street leading to the the picturesque cobbled bridge by the mill. Idyllic.

Rochechouart – Triassic Meteorite Impact
A town famous for its association with a Triassic meteorite impact crater. The chateau is built of impactites and breccias and sits on top of outcrops of breccia. A very picturesque locality. Read more on Wikipedia.
