The foundation resource of GeoLumina will be our library of eLearning modules. These are modules that students can follow independently and return to for reference and trainers can use in any of the classroom situations.
This is how we think they should work:
- Courses should comprise modules that can be mapped on to the knowledge-based and skill-based competences in the GeoLumina Competence Framework.
- Each course module should be accompanied by a bank of quiz questions that can be used for student self-assessment and used by trainers in pre- and post course assessments in the classroom (we may even try and commercialise the question banks on licence to other educational organisation e.g. Universities)
- Modular eLearning courses will be submitted to the GeoLumina core team for approval, to ensure quality and relationship to the GeoSkills competency framework (where applicable)
- Ownership of the courses is defined.
- The pricing structure for use of the course is agreed for the variety of potential users i.e. each module would have three prices:
- Private individuals
- Corporate block subscriptions
- Higher education
- The course is launched in the GeoLumina shop and promoted with strategic training provider partners
- Any sales of courses will incur a 20% management fee to support the GeoLumina platform maintenance and development costs. The remaining 80% will be distributed to the course owners.
